Integrative Chaplain Program
In 2010 the Integrative Chaplain Teaching Program was begun at CMC-NorthEast Medical Center. It was designed to train Hospital Chaplain Residents and Interns in the use of integrative modalities as a part of their spiritual healing practices in CMC’s regional hospitals. The Chaplains are ecumenical and thus respect and serve all on their spiritual path to healing and wellness. All chaplains are seminary trained and supervised by the Pastoral Care staff at CMC-NorthEast. This course is one component of the Clinical Pastoral Education program offered at CMC-NorthEast.
Integrative Chaplains utilize complimentary therapies such as massage, aromatherapy, anointing with oils, relaxation and guided visualization, the use of music and art as a healing presence to more deeply assist patients, family members and staff to cope with the stresses of illness.
They can guide patients through the Labyrinth, a healing tool on the campus of CMC-NorthEast Medical Center, and use this as a focus of meditation, prayer and healing for self or loved ones.
The Integrative Chaplains are mobile through the hospital and are willing to serve those in need of comfort, healing, and spiritual solace. Please call the hospital operator at 704-403-3000 or the Department of Pastoral Care at 704-403-1443 for our services.
Application information for the Integrative Chaplain Program and Clinical Pastoral Education, is available through Rev. Beth Jackson-Jordan at 704-403-3335.
