In order for your insurance company to cover your internal medicine appointment with Dr. Bongaard or Dr. Scheer, you may need to inform your insurance company of a change in your primary care physician, unless your insurance company does not require you to designate a primary care physician. Integrative medicine consultations with Drs. Bongaard and Scheer are typically not covered by insurance and will need to be paid for at the time of service.

To schedule a consultation or an appointment for one of our therapies or modalities, please call our office at (704) 403-7050.

Insurance
While Integrative Medicine is growing in popularity among health consumers and more widely accepted in the traditional western medical community, many insurance companies do not provide coverage for these services. At this time due to insurance limitations, these treatments and consultations will remain on a fee for service basis. However we will be actively working with the insurance companies to change this reimbursement status so it is more beneficial for the patient.

Some flex spending plans may cover Acupuncture/ Traditional Oriental Medicine and Massage treatments. Please check with your plan provider for specific details on what is and is not covered.

Fees
As insurance currently does not provide coverage for these services, all fees are due at the time of service. We accept cash, check or credit cards. If there are special circumstances surrounding your financial obligations, please speak to a front desk staff person prior to your appointment about establishing a financial plan that meets your needs. We ask that all our patients sign our financial policy statement prior to the initial appointment.

All fees are due at the time of service. All balances not paid within 30 days will be assessed a late fee of $25. Balances 60-days past due will be turned over for collection. A $25 returned check fee will be assessed for insufficient funds.
